rjdagrace: i dont know what you mean with the ubuntu installer. but the rsync command to do a backup should work
k1l: okay, thank you.
can i install nvidia graphics drivers on ubuntu 13.04??
sourav: what is the issue?
i have ubuntu 13.04 (on laptop)
and i have nvidia graphic card
sourav: you can install the ubuntu-drivers-common package. then run "sudo ubuntu-drivers autoinstall"
and i am not getting any other driver other than nouveau
sourav: you can only install the nvidia package
okkkkk
thx
sourav: the issue is, that the new kernel 3.11.0 doesnt support the nvidia from nvidia and ubuntu dropped support for that card.
in 2 month i will be changing to ubuntu :P
so now i have time to spend :P
sourav: so you need to use the nouveau driver
or look what card you got
if I install an application to the windows directory, when I do 'ubuntu software center' and look for the application, it shows it as installed. But if I go to my'start' page, it still says that the application is not installed. Why?
Sourav: sudo apt-get install nvidia-current
trentoel: depends if the windows store has the software center installed
thank you k1l
k1l: It says that it's not installed
